bauma 25 in a nutshell
The bauma 25 did not suffer from the uncertainty caused by Trump's duty policy. Alternatives to the Diesel include Perkins' electric demo and Yanmar's multifuel, including hydrogen

Although Monday the 7th proved to be more tame than usual, the figures eventually proved the success of bauma 25. Around 600,000 visitors from more than 200 countries and 3,601 exhibitors from 57 nations. Once again, the iconic image of the crowd filling the West Hall waiting for the opening will go viral.

bauma 25 was marked by uncertainty, due to the duty-laden clouds looming over Washington. A merciless carousel of announcements and stops, of pick-up and back-away that are marking investment forecasts. On the powertrain side, there was not too much excitement. Among the alternative options to Diesel, Yanmar launched the Electrification Unit, dedicated to advancing electrification in the compact off-highway segment. Just at bauma, with the 3.8-litre 4TN101 Hydrogen, the Japanese join in promoting the multifuel platform ICE. Yanmar already has a strong track record in hydrogen solutions, including the marine market hydrogen fuel cell commercialization in August 2023, and is well on its way to developing the technology to operate hydrogen combustion engines safely and reliably in the off-road sector. Perkins stunned everyone with a battery electric power unit technical demonstrator. It is an integrated module, replacing the 3.6-litre J904 inside a pipe fusion machine, a McElroy TracStar 900. “The system consists of a Perkins battery along with inverters, motors and on-board chargers – all packaged up into a compact drop-in system to support seamless transition from diesel to electric for our customers looking to make that move,” said Jaz Gill, Perkins vice president, global sales, marketing, service and parts.

Complementing the powertrain, and pushing solutions for electrification or greater efficiency than the traditional engine, are the historic motion control players such as Bosch Rexroth, Danfoss and Parker.
Quoting Faymonville
Alexander Fickers, CEO of Faymonville, says: “Countless inspiring conversations with customers and partners from all over the world have made this event a true highlight. bauma once again reminded us: innovation thrives where people come together with vision, enthusiasm and drive.” Faymonville and Cometto unveiled at bauma 25 a fully-electric self-propelled modular trailer (SPMT) for moving large goods, powered by Scania.
