At the Hannover Messe 2025, Schaeffler confirms its versatility in the development of technology that lends itself to the industrial, energy and automation scenario. And the latter is the frame of reference. It is a preview, presenting to the public the potential of synergies with Vitesco Technologies, following the successful merger in October 2024. The result is an enriched proposal, divided into eight product families, covering all areas of motion – from drive technology to power generation and sustainable service solutions.

About Schaeffler’s versatility, the torque does not only apply to automotive and off-highway

Talking about torque measurement in industry, Schaeffler is presenting the TorqueSense torque sensor at the Hannover Messe. Thanks to its high resolution and linearity, TorqueSense enables precise and non-contact measurement of torque in industrial drive trains. In this way, it is possible, for example, to precisely monitor and control construction and agricultural machinery or equip industrial machines with overload protection.

We matched Schaeffler to versatility in the headline. The German company will also unveil the double-row XZU angular contact needle row bearing for lightweight robots and cobots. This is characterized by its compact design, high efficiency, and low weight. By dint of its innovative characteristics, the XZU angular contact needle row bearing was nominated for the Hermes Award, which will be presented during the Hannover Messe.

Some voices from the inside

Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler, explains: “The Hannover Messe is an excellent opportunity to showcase the strategic concept of the “Motion Technology Company”, which we developed for Schaeffler in the course of the merger with Vitesco Technologies. Our goal is to become a technology company that designs motion in all its diversity with an eye to the future. To this end, we are supported not only by our broad technology portfolio, particularly in the manufacturing sector, but also by our eight newly aligned product families, which encompass all business activities of our four divisions. We will exploit the potential for interdivisional synergy even more than before and establish ourselves in segments that will define the future. An interesting example of this approach is the rapidly growing field of humanoid robots.”

Uwe Wagner, Schaeffler’s Chief Technology Officer, says: “Schaeffler stands for innovative strength and pioneering spirit and will use its experience to play a key role in shaping future technologies. Our goal is to develop products that make movement smarter, cleaner and safer. The basis for this is the strong development expertise that has distinguished us for decades. The eight product families allow us to draw on the know-how of our development areas and transfer it to new business segments.”
