Ferretti Yachts has recently launched its largest ever yacht. It’s called just 1000 and the very first boat was booked by a French owner. The Ferretti Yachts 1000 is the first 100 percent wide-body vessel: its launch «represents the culmination of a design process driven by the quest for perfection: extraordinary investments in R&D, thousands of hours of naval design, long-term mould prototyping at the Plug & Mould factory in Forlì, and the equally long and delicate construction phase at the Cattolica shipyard. The result is a remarkable new flagship made up of talent and technology, the ability to innovate and craftsmanship», stated the Italian company.

Ferretti Yachts 1000: what’s in the engine room

Despite the long collaboration with MAN, recently extended for five more years, the new mega yacht will feature a couple of MTU engines capable of ensuring a huge amount of power. In details, the newborn will be powered by two MTU 16V 2000 M86 engines with a power of 2,200 mhp for a maximum declared speed of 28 knots. As an alternative option, Ferretti Yachts can mount two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, capable of 2638 mhp at 2,450 rpm (pictured below, the 12-cylinder MTU engine belonging to the same family, namely the 12V 2000 M96).

Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group CEO

Back to the record-breaking (as for Ferretti Yachts) boat, here’s what the management declared. «The new flagship is an exciting choral work permeated by the flair, vision and passion of so many skilled and talented people who represent the winning factor for Ferretti Yachts. To them all I’d like to offer my heartfelt thanks for how they have completed an extraordinary project like Ferretti Yachts 1000 in such a complicated year», commented Ferretti Group CEO, Alberto Galassi. «This fantastic yacht really is a beautiful private island on which to imagine your future, in contact with the sea and the finest ‘Made in Italy’ marine expertise».
