The Battery Experts Forum 2024 kicked off on November 5 at the Science and Congress Center Darmstadt, bringing together leading minds in the battery and energy storage industries. From November 5 to 7, the event offers an extensive program featuring keynote presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities centered around the latest developments and innovations in battery technology.

One of the forum’s highlights will be a keynote from Sven Bauer, founder and CEO of the globally active BMZ Group. As a recognized world market expert in battery technology, Bauer brings pioneering spirit and deep industry expertise, and will critically examine the challenges and regulatory framework of battery manufacturing in Germany. His insights represent innovation and entrepreneurship in a field that drives essential future technologies.

Günther Schuh, an expert in production systems, innovation management, and sustainable mobility, will deliver a keynote on November 6. At RWTH Aachen and the Fraunhofer IPT, he researches topics like Industry 4.0, production efficiency, and electromobility. As an entrepreneur and co-founder of StreetScooter and e.GO Mobile, Schuh provides practical insights into disruptive innovations and sustainable mobility solutions.

With more than 35 years of experience in the solar industry, Burkhard Holder, Director of Trends & Innovation at VDE Renewables, will explore the dynamic developments in sustainable energy, with a focus on applied research and energy policy initiatives.

Another exciting look into battery development comes from Gabi Franziska Gottstein of JEOL, the forum’s silver sponsor and a specialist in electron optical and analytical systems. She will provide in-depth insights into material analysis for battery development and demonstrate how modern analytical methods enhance battery efficiency and performance.

The forum is led and organized by Matthias Girlich, Project Manager of the Battery Experts Forum. “We are proud to offer a platform that brings together industry expertise and the latest innovations,” says Girlich. “With this forum, held in the unique atmosphere of the Darmstadtium, we create opportunities for knowledge transfer and professional exchange.
