BKT, one of the leading manufacturers of tires for off-highway applications, will be alongside the Tractor of the Year (TotY) for the next 4 years. The collaboration agreement has been signed and will see the multinational company support the most prestigious agricultural award, appointed by TRATTORI magazine, part of our editorial network.
TotY is a well-known award (here is our report about the 2020 edition), started in 1988, which over the years has gathered some of the major trade journalists in the world of agricultural mechanization, in order to create a jury of 25 experts in charge of appointing the award for the best European tractor.
BKT and Tractor of the Year, the comments from both sides
Lucia Salmaso, CEO of BKT Europe, commented: «I’m excited about this project and can’t wait to get started. TotY is a real institution and an actual benchmark in agriculture, so we are proud to be part of this group. We have a lot to offer in the tire world, an essential component of the machine system».
«It is an honor to be able to start this new adventure alongside BKT, a very dynamic company with which we will work side by side in order to provide several novelties, starting with the first digital version of the TotY. This will have its conclusion during the award ceremony for the winning vehicles in the four different categories», added Fabio Zammaretti, President of Tractor of the Year.
In the meanwhile, production restarted in India
BKT has also announced that production has restarted in the Indian plants after the stop imposed by the coronavirus outbreak. The Group has also restarted supplies and shipments to both the original equipment and spare parts sectors.
All of this has been done ensuring maximum safety and guaranteeing the distance between employees, the reorganization of shifts, the construction of housing for employees who can thus avoid the use of public transport, the installation of body temperature scanners and the establishment of medical tests for all workers at the beginning of their shifts, with a doctor always present in each plant.
