Eima International 2018. To figure out the capacity of an exhibition you have to start from the figures: 1,950 exhibitors spread in 30 pavilions, 600 foreign manufacturers from 49 countries, 317,000 visitors attended. The 43rd edition of the world agricultural machinery exhibition in Bologna seems to be more and more a market place for Mediterranean area, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Caucasian countries.

EIMA INTERNATIONAL 2018. PREVIEW OF A SUCCESS

Hybrids are under the Eima International 2018 spotlight. Kohler has promoted the 1003 for the K-Hem, the second engine of the line up in terms of volume after the Kdi 2504. In Kohler’s thougts, the 1003 is the ideal engine for keeping below the 19 kilowatt threshold and for light duty applications. The electric motor is used to ‘feed’ power peaks. From the manufacturer’s point of view, it is the right solution to balance the thermal output and the electric boost.

Eima International 2018 and the hybrids chapter

The dual function of the electrical component that works as a generator or as an auxiliary engine allows to recover energy from the transmission system during the braking and exhaust phases of the machine and from the same thermal engine during the phases of work with low power demand. In this way, the energy stored in the batteries will be available when the machine requires to exceed the threshold of 18 kW thermal installed, even exceeding 30 kW.

4e consulting, Deutz and Carraro Agritalia is the triangle who made the Carraro Ibrido. The specialized tractor crosses the line and chooses the hybrid project developed together with 4e consulting. Powered by Deutz TCD2.2 3-cylinder engine, Ibrido can work in three modes. Pure electrical for inside closed structures, greenhouses, stables or for municipal use; Diesel only, for on road transfers or without particularly heavy towing/loading; hybrid: in the case of transport with trailer and loads, i.e. in the case of heavy PTO workings.

CARRARO IBRIDO IN A NUTSHELL

Eima International 2018 and the ICE

A brief summary from the other booths. After the Intermat premiere, Yanmar unveiled the 4.6 liter with structural sump. Deutz celebrated 22 percent further growth in the third quarter of the year. From Japan also Isuzu, at the show at the Italian dealer booth, Pitteri Violini. Fpt Industrial showed the compact engines family Stage V (F36 and F34) and the full line proposal for agricultural OEMs. Hatz brought to Bologna the new Silent Pack for the H-series of three and four-cylinder engines. Kubota bets on the ‘babies’, among others V1505-CR-T, Wg 1903, D902T and Wg972. Cummins was been the most talked about event, because of the collaboration with Isuzu announced by Tom Linebarger. At the stand the 4.5 and 8.9 liters, with the 6.7 in the structural sump seen at the Agritechnica. John Deere strengthens its Stage V proposal (after-treatment module included) that which in Italy is well known among harvesting machines, mixers and sprayers. Volvo Penta raise the challenge and show the Stage V engines, fitted some Ag machinery (such as MTS Sandei tomato harvesters).

Eima International and Stage V

Perkins has reproposed the Syncro series in the structural version, presented for the first time here in Bologna two years ago, the 2.2, 7 and 9 liters engines. Kioti Daedong showed the 2.4 and 1.8 liters, with the 1.4 for refrigerator applications. From Korea also Doosan Infracore : the compact family is ready for 2019: D18, D24 and D34 are Stage V compliants. The upcoming rules convinced Doosan to remove Deplhi common rail for adopting Bosch Ecu, injection pump and common rail system. From Geminiani and VM Motori. It’s a return to Eima for Vm Motori, free from any space sharing with Fpt Industrial. The news is the Stage V. Vm is also ready, with the 2.2, 3 and 4.5 liters. Headquartered in Romagna, Italy, close to the Fellini’s famous movie location Amarcord, Geminiani is still a crudle of challenging proposals. Pioneer in the hybrids solutions, with Hyntesys (Hybrid technology system), and the last launch, Dynamico, a dynamic UPS.
