The evolution of Bobcat

Bobcat’s story begins in 1958, under the name of Melroe Manufacturing Company, that can boast among its achievements the launch on the market of a front loader for farms in North Dakota (United States) from which evolution the M-400 would soon be born, the first true compact loader with non-steering wheels in the world.

The M-400 will then give way to the M-440, for which, in 1962, Melroe adopts what would become the brand with which it is still known today: “Bobcat“.

After sixty years, Bobcat’s range of compact loaders, compact tracked loaders and four-wheel steer loaders has now achieved considerable fame on the global market, without forgetting the presence of the Americans also in the mini excavators market. The company can boast more than 55 years of experience in the development of lifting and material handling products, thanks to the acquisition of the French company Sambron, the true inventor of the telescopic loader, according to what was stated by the American company.

The company has continued to develop and expand its offer in these markets, so much so that today Bobcat is able to offer a complete range of mini excavators and telescopic that meet the same stringent internal requirements in terms of reliability and productivity applied to its compact loaders.
