Hitachi ZX490LCH-7, born to produce
The Hitachi ZX490LCH-7 is the evolution of a concept that has its roots over time. A partnership with Isuzu that has always lasted and today brought the 6WG1 under the hood of this 50-ton excavator.
Hitachi Construction has always stood out for innovation and technology. Two values that have allowed him to be a point of reference in the market. 2021 was the year in which the new 7 Series hydraulic excavators arrived. A debut that is bringing several equally important machines to many important construction sites.
The evolution of a concept
The Hitachi ZX490LCH-7 is in fact the evolution of a concept that has its roots over time. A partnership with Isuzu that has always lasted and today brought the 6WG1 under the hood of this 50-ton excavator. It is a 15.681-liter 6-cylinder in-line unit that delivers 295 kW (401 hp) at 1,800 rpm. For a maximum torque of 2,050 Nm at 1,300 rpm. This unit allows the hydraulic system to supply 2 x 385 l / min (770 l / min) at the complete disposal of the operator. Compliance with Stage V occurs through the combined action of a variable geometry turbine, intercooler and cooled EGR in conjunction with DOC, CSF and SCR.
Based on the previous 6 Series, the new Hitachi ZX490LCH-7 has increased its productivity by 7% with 11% lower consumption in Power mode. This increase in efficiency was achieved thanks to the new Hios-V hydraulic system which has further optimized the management of the engine and pumps. It is now possible to directly check efficiency using the ECO indicator that can be viewed on the 8” color monitor. A fundamental aspect for those who need high production with careful cost control. The identical motorization is a clear sign of high durability over time and a vocation for very heavy jobs. In fact, the engine module concept incorporates the same layout with greater cooling efficiency. And also with a quieter operation than the previous 6 Series.
The Hitachi cab
In Japanese philosophy, value over time is obtained without distortions but by making a project that is based on solid foundations evolve. The cab of Hitachi excavators has developed its own identity which has evolved from series to series over time, establishing new concepts of ergonomics and functionality. With the new 7 series there has been a more marked evolution compared to previous generational leaps. The 8” digital monitor has completely renewed graphics and provides various information to the operator in a clear and intuitive way.
Navigating the display functions is conveniently done with a multifunction controller without having to take your back off the seat. The anti-glare screen allows you to have everything under control even with very strong brightness. Above all, the aerial view given by the 270 ° Aerial Angle cameras with 6 different viewing modes of the working area, a fundamental factor for a machine of this size. To complete the equipment there are Bluetooth and DAB.
