A little more than a year has passed since Hyundai’s acquisition of Doosan Infracore, and the ‘big Korean deal’ has picked up its first significant engine orders. The 1.8-, 2.4- and 3.4-litre compact series, manufactured in Incheon, Korea, saw the light of day about ten years ago. Designed for home applications, mainly Bobcat machines and Doosan mini-excavators, they are increasingly finding their way into the OEM market.

The Korean company Hyundai Doosan signed a delivery agreement of 8000 G2 engines

Hyundai Doosan Infracore won a contract to supply 8,000 engines to an Italian agricultural machinery manufacturer. HDI attended EIMA international 2022, held in Bologna from 9-13 November, and signed a supply contract with Italian-based Goldoni Keestrack to supply 8,000 engines. HDI will supply small G2 diesel engines to be used in agricultural machinery, including tractors manufactured by Goldoni, over a five-year period starting in the first half of next year. HDI’s G2 engine is a highly efficient model, equipped with HDI’s own ULFC technology, which meets the Stage V emission standards. HDI’s G2 engine boasts more power than its predecessor and the lowest fuel and engine oil consumption compared to other products in its class. Its compact design facilitates installation in any space, regardless of size.

Quoting the Korean statements

Hyungtaek Lim, Sales and PS Manager of HDI, said: “This contract proves the competitiveness of G2 engines in the European agricultural machinery market. We will expand export areas in Europe by diversifying the engine range and increasing the competitiveness of the battery pack.”
HDI plans to enter into discussions with Keestrack, Goldoni’s Belgium-based holding company, for the supply of diesel engines, full hybrid engines and battery packs for electric tractors, with plans to obtain other engine supply contracts.
