The progressive completion of the JCB skid steer loaders range in recent years has led to 15 new arrivals in the family. In particular we are talking about 15 models divided into the Small Platform and Large Platform lines available with vertical or radial lifting with a power range from 42 kW to 55 kW. Together with the possibility of combining equipment also with hi-flow hydraulic system.

The secret “behind the curtain”: JCB EcoMAX and JCB by Kohler

One of the cores is the 4.4-liter JCB EcoMAX T4 Final turbo diesel engine, with 55 kW of power, 400 Nm torque at 1200 rpm, standard on the Large Platform models. It uses up to 9% less fuel than the Tier 3 units. The JCB EcoMAX engine generates its peak torque at low speeds, for greater fuel efficiency during transmission and hydraulic system use. Since this engine adopts the no-after-treatment system (DPF) philosophy and since it doesn’t need lubricating oils with high thermal resistance, maintenance costs are lower.

The models of the Small Platform line operate with the JCB Diesel by Kohler turbo diesel engine compliant with Tier 4 Final, in the 1.9 and 2.5 liter configurations. With 42 and 55 kW respectively and 225 or 300 Nm torque at 1200 rpm. Both models come with a maintenance-free diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) offering better torque and fuel efficiency.

JCB FASTRAC REACHED 166.7 KM/H

Like the JCB EcoMAX unit, the JCB Diesel by Kohler engine also does not require the use of exhaust gas after-treatment devices, such as DPF, to reduce operating costs and downtime.

The hydraulic system, which includes two pumps dedicated to power the blade and the equipment with the High-Flow hydraulic circuit included as standard, offers a flow rate of 120 liters/min at 2,300 rpm and a pressure of 230 bar.

JCB focuses on durability and performance for its loaders

JCB’s industrial reputation usually relies on the concept of durability of its machines. JCB skid steer loaders are built to meet the needs of any type of application and in any condition. The testing protocols involve strong prolonged stresses for the machine, also on repeated cycles and in extreme weather conditions.

Unlike conventional cooling systems, JCB’s one draws in clean air from above and releases hot air from the sides and rear, away from the operator. The result is better cooling efficiency, even in extreme conditions.

The optional 2-speed transmission allows JCB skid steer loaders and track loaders to achieve faster cycle and transfer times. The small footprint together with the 360 degree articulation capability, allows for better maneuverability within narrow job sites.

The operator is in full control of the power, the torque and the traction force for maximum productivity. The myCHOICE JCB control software lets the operator adjust the response speed of joysticks, while three settings allow to adapt the movement sensitivity of the joysticks to suit the operational needs.
