Recently, LiuGong celebrated the launch of its first 200 HP tractor, equipped with powershift technology from ZF. Top executives from both LiuGong and ZF attended the event in Liuzhou, China, highlighting the strong partnership that began with the establishment of Liuzhou ZF Machinery in 1995.

ZF’s expertise and reputation in off-highway driveline technology has laid a successful foundation for the decades-long co-operation between the two parties. Ever since, ZF played an important role in the excellent performance of the manufacturer’s construction machinery applications in both domestic and international markets.

Having successfully gained extensive knowledge in the field of construction machinery over the past decades, LiuGong Group recently began to extend to the agricultural sector as well; the LT2004-BP tractor with 200 HP being just the beginning of the co-operation between the two parties in the agricultural machinery market.

ZF’s TerraPower powershift transmission series covers the power range from 100 to 280 HP. It has been developed for high-horsepower tractor applications, with automatic reversing (power shuttle), electro-hydraulic control of the PTO, four-wheel drive, and differential locking.

In addition, the integrated transmission control unit offers comprehensive diagnostic options, and the hardware-directly connected to the electrical system significantly reduces development cycles and service costs for the OEM. With high reliability, high operating efficiency, and ease of operation, the TerraPower series has become a renowned technology for high-horsepower tractors worldwide.

In the future, the customer’s full range of big-horsepower tractors (160-260 HP) is also planned to be equipped with powershift technology from ZF.

Alexander Seeliger, Vice President, Division Industrial Technology, said: “As a long-term partner, ZF is very honored to participate in and support the development of LiuGong agricultural machinery. We believe that today’s launching ceremony is just a good start, and both parties will cooperate in more areas in the future.”

Peter Huang, Head of ZF Division Industrial Technology Region China, added: “In recent years, the Chinese tractor market is in the development stage of upgrading from mechanical shifting to powershift and CVT technology. Our commitment is to help our customers and partners continuously optimize their product competitiveness, and jointly create additional values for more agricultural machinery users as well as China’s agricultural production.”
