Manitou super compact telehandlers
Manitou presents the new ULMs to the market. Acronym for Ultra Light Manitou, these are two new compact models with unique features on the market.
Manitou is increasingly becoming a full-liner builder in the civil and industrial construction sector. The renewal of the entire range of the French manufacturer is in fact affecting not only telescopic handlers. The company’s core business is in fact flanked by other product ranges that allow the manufacturer and its dealers to provide a complete offer.
On the occasion of the presentation of the new MRT range, Manitou had announced many new products. A gradual and planned expansion of the range that also affects many compact machines. We are obviously talking about telescopic handlers, skids and track loaders, and wheel loaders. A market in clear growth.
Manitou presents itself today with the new ULM, acronym for Ultra Light Manitou. Specifically, these are two compact telehandlers with a maximum lifting capacity of 1,250 and 1,500 kg. But above all with a maximum lifting height of 4.30 meters. And with the ability to be transported with a trailer that stays under 3,500 kg.
Manitou: a compact vision
The ultra-compact telehandler sector is not crowded and has a very high growth potential. With the new ULM 412H and ULM 415H, the French manufacturer has decided to preside over this class of machines with a product capable of being highly competitive. Width 1.49 meters, height 1.92 m, length of 3.47 m. A telescopic handler that goes practically anywhere without giving up the pluses that have made Manitou famous.
The breakout force, thanks to the Z-shaped kinematics, is 1,880 daN (1,917 kgf) which is very interesting especially when compared to a machine with an operating weight ranging between 2,550 and 2,900 kg (depending on the models and versions). The maximum height of 4.30 meters allows you to operate easily on the most sacrificed construction sites. It is in fact possible to transport a pallet to the first floor of a house under construction without any problems. Or load with the bucket, without problems, even a truck with high sides.
The engines are Yanmar. Under the bonnets is the 3TNV88C-DMU Stage V. A popular 1,642-liter 3-cylinder engine that delivers 26.2 kW (35.1 hp) for a maximum torque of 105 Nm at 1,950 rpm. The hydraulic system delivers 48 l/min but the very interesting thing is that we are dealing with a Load Sensing Flow Sharing distributor with a gear pump. This is an excellent compromise between cost and performance also used by many mini excavator manufacturers.
