Bianchi launches the “concrete” Speedy at Indianapolis
The Italian dealer Avoni supplied FPT Industrial's F36 to Bianchi Casseforme for Speedy, a machine dedicated to the transport and distribution of concrete

That of the concrete machine named Speedy by Bianchi Casseforme is a story that began half a century ago in the USA. And it is precisely in the United States that those from Fornovo sul Taro, Parma, between the Motor Valley of Emilia-Romagna and the iconic scenery of the Cinque Terre. For some uninitiated, Indianapolis is not only home to the Motor Speedway. The Precast Show is the navel of the North American concrete industry and was held from 5 to 7 February at the Indiana Convention Center.

Avoni, FPT Industrial’s distributor near Bologna in northern Italy, has been responsible for supplying Bianchi with the 3.6-litre machine that equips the self-propelled machine, which is designed to transport and distribute concrete, by means of an auger, within the plants where precast elements are produced. Bianchi’s are also on the ball, when it comes to remote control. An MDR module allows the remote control of position, alarms and working data of the machine, which is also equipped with a video camera for rear control of the machine and anti-collision barriers, soundproofing of the cabin, as well as hydraulic pumps and the 4-cylinder engine.
Let’s talk briefly about FPT Industrial’s F36

The FPT Industrial F36 is the engine of the ingenious stationary application called Power Island, which Avoni introduced at KEY in Rimini. For mobile industrial applications, the F5 series, which also includes the 3.4-litre, claims an exhaust gas recirculation rate of less than 10%. The 900 cc cylinder displacement (BxS 102×110 mm) gets at the top 105 kW at 2,300 rpm and 600 Nm at 1,500 rpm. We will talk extensively about the 3.6 to 3.9 litre compacts in future issues of POWERTRAIN International.
