Danfoss and a climate-neutral agriculture
Danfoss #ETtalks Insights. If you hear the name Danfoss, you make an immediate link with a huge ‘ecosystem’ of technologies. And what about ‘Danfoss #ETtalks Insights’?
We attended the event during Agritechnica in Hannover. Such as Danfoss explains on its website: «#ETtalks Insights are part of the global platform and series of events and interviews Engineering Tomorrow talks, created to activate innovative thinking and solutions around climate and energy».
AG AS AGRITECHNICA, CE AS BAUMA? THE DANFOSS FOOTPRINT
So, is it really possible a climate-neutral agriculture sector?
Danfoss #ETtalks Insights. The words of Logset
Investigating the connections between agriculture and machinery, Jouni Kytovaara, Research & Development Manager, introduced us to a Logset harvester (you will read more about machine, hybrid system and powertrain on the Fish-Eye column on Diesel International magazine 1/20). To work into the forest, Logset chose an hybrid powertrain: Visedo is involved and, you know, you say Visedo, you mean Danfoss.
VISEDO AND HYBRID VEHICLES? YOU HAVE TO TALK WITH SISU AND MERCEDES…
Quoting #ETtalks Insights abstract: «Jouni describes how a design constraint led his team to develop the world’s most powerful hybrid harvesters. What does this mean? For Logset – an opportunity to differentiate in the market and build an innovative profile, for their customers – better business results through increased productivity, and for all of us – significantly less emissions put in the atmosphere.
A very important contribution came from Simon Nielsen. Who is he? He’s a Senior Systems Engineer within the Integrated Solutions department of Danfoss Power Solutions. Integrated Solutions is responsible for developing system solutions for off-highway machinery through the value-added combination of hydraulic and electrical components with control software.
Danfoss Power Solutions, electrification and tractors
«Electrification will transform the agriculture sector – and this transformation starts by putting the end-users at the center the design process for farming machinery», Danfoss reports. «Simon’s talk focuses on different scenarios on type of tractors and operations where electric or hybrid solutions are applicable today and areas where we need to focus».
