What unites FPT Industrial, Iveco, and Edison? Energy, of course. In detail, Iveco and Edison have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate the development of sustainable gas mobility and promote further the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the road transport sector in Italy.

Iveco with Edison and FPT behind the scenes

We report the statements about Edison and Iveco. In this case, FPT Industrial is indirectly involved as the engine arm of the Iveco group, with which it started the spin-off from CNH Industrial. “Last October we completed the first integrated LNG logistics chain in Italy to support sustainable mobility, this was thanks to a small-scale coastal deposit coming into operation in Ravenna, and an LNG carrier ship dedicated to the supply. Today we are taking a further step in the strategic path of decarbonisation of transport, in view of the European and Italian climate targets. By joining forces and working together with an important group like Iveco, both in Italy and internationally, we will be able to speed up the conversion of fleets and the energy transition process”, stated Nicola Monti, Edison CEO.

Gerrit Marx, designated CEO, Iveco Group, added: “Natural gas mobility holds a big stake of our present and our future. It is an initial, yet important step towards the decarbonization of the transport sector, and our pioneering efforts in this field have paid off: we now lead the market, with 55% of market share in Europe for LNG trucks. The collaboration between Iveco and Edison will give an additional boost to sustainable mobility, which will be reinforced by the gradual introduction of biomethane in the project’s development plan. Iveco already offers near CO2-neutral heavy-duty truck technology when the powertrain is running on renewable bio-methane: this further demonstrates our genuine commitment and clear roadmap to face the urgent calls to action by the climate change debate”.

The Nitto ATP Finals will be held in Turin.

FPT is Silver Partner at the Nitto ATP Finals

FPT Industrial has accustomed us to the coexistence of the technological register, in this case the propulsive declination, with the artistic feeling and with the sporting adrenaline. The Turin company is Silver Partner of the Nitto ATP Finals, the spectacular indoor tennis tournament that brings together the top eight singles players and the top eight men’s doubles pairs from the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) 2021 tour, to be held at the Pala Alpitour Arena in Turin from 14 to 21 November.

In fact, FPT Industrial will feature courtside with its logo and in all materials relating to the tournament. It will also have its own stand (B19), shared with New Holland Agriculture, in the Commercial Village, located in historic Piazza San Carlo right in the center of Turin, which will be open to visitors from 10:00 to 22:00 hrs from 12 to 22 November. The stand will provide an introduction to the natural gas F28 NG, the first alternative fuel agricultural engine in its class, which offers the same performances as a Diesel but using biomethane from renewable sources, and with no or even negative CO2 emissions. A biomethane-powered F28 NG, installed on a prototype crawler tractor, is the fulcrum of the three-year partnership between FPT Industrial, Fontanafredda and New Holland Agriculture which aims to achieve the first ever zero-emissions Barolo grape harvest.

Organized since 1970, the Nitto ATP Finals consist of two groups of four, followed by crossed semifinals and finals. The record for victories in the singles belongs to Roger Federer with six wins, while in the double the all-time ranking with seven titles is led by the legendary American couple formed by Peter Fleming and John McEnroe. Broadcast in over 180 countries with an estimated audience of 95 million viewers, the Nitto ATP Finals will be held in Turin until the 2025 edition. “As a brand with headquarters and solid roots in Turin, we are particularly proud to welcome you to our city to an event that brings it back to the center of global attention”, declares Carlo Moroni, Head of Communication at Fpt Industrial. “Being protagonists, together with the best tennis players in the world, in this stellar tournament is a great emotion and a very special opportunity to communicate the technological and sustainability values of our market-leading engines to a huge audience”.
