Deutz can feel the effects of the ongoing fall in demand caused by the economic headwinds but remains profitable. This can be seen from the results published today for the first three quarters of 2024.

At its Capital Markets Day in Cologne, Deutz presented an update of its Dual+ strategy and announced a cost-cutting program to counter the cyclically-induced decline in demand.

From today’s perspective, Deutz now expects unit sales for the full year to be below 150,000 engines (forecast from August 2024: maximum of 160,000 engines).

Deutz

Deutz has welcomed a new intake of apprentices, with three young women and 33 young men embarking on apprenticeships in six vocations at the engine manufacturer. The apprentices at the site in Herschbach started on August 1, while those in Cologne and Ulm started on September 1.

Deutz maintained its growth trajectory in the first half of 2023: adjusted EBIT rises by almost 50 percent to €62.5 million, revenue increases by 10.0 percent.

Deutz chooses automotive supplier Mahle to supply hydrogen engine components. Full production for stationary application will start in 2024.

Deutz presented Professor Wan Gang with the Nicolaus August Otto Award. The professor, who has a PhD in engineering, formerly headed up the New Energy Automobile Engineering Center and later became Minister for Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China.

Deutz stayed the course for growth in the first quarter of 2023: with an increase in unit sales of 10.6 percent year on year, the manufacturer of drive systems was able to grow revenues by 15.5 percent to €517.2 million.

At Deutz AG’s virtual Annual General Meeting in Cologne, the shareholders voted in favor of all management proposals and formally approved the actions of the Board of Management and Supervisory Board.

At the end of January, Deutz announced a comprehensive cooperation with Daimler Truck. After full approval was granted by the authorities, the underlying transactions have now been closed.
